Yeon Sang-ho co-wrote and directed Peninsula, a 2020 South Korean action horror heist movie. It is a stand-alone continuation of the 2016 movie Train to Busan and centres on a former soldier who is sent to a squad searching for a vehicle loaded with cash.

Amid the wastelands of the Korean peninsula, where a family, renegade militia, and zombies now prowl. Gang Dong-won, Lee Jung-hyun, and other actors make up the film’s ensemble cast.

During a zombie outbreak in South Korea, the Korean Marine Captain Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won) drives his family to a ship. On their way, they encounter a couple with a young daughter asking for help. But Jung-seok refused to help them.

On the boat, an infected man turned into Zombie and infected many people on the ship and Jung-seok’s nephew, Dong-hwan (Moon Woo-jin). Jung-seok’s sister refuses to leave him alone, and the Zombie bites her.

Four years later, Jung-seok and his brother-in-law, Chul-min (Kim Do-Yoon), are in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, Chinese Mobsters recruit Jung-seok, his brother, and two other South Koreans to send them on a mission to South Korea.

Their mission was to retrieve a truck that contained $200 million. They will get half of the money if they succeed in their mission.

They set on their mission, reach the peninsula at night and start searching for the truck. They finally fend off, kill the zombie truck driver, and escape from there.

But on their way back, they were attacked by a rouge militia, Unit 361. Jung-seok was thrown out of the truck, whereas Chul-min hid in the truck, and the other two members were killed.

Two sisters Joon (Lee Re) and Yu-jin (Lee Ye-won), rescue Jung-seok. The girls then returned to their mother, Min-Jung (Lee Jung-Hyun), and grandfather (Elder Kim).

Jung-seok realizes that Min-Jung and Yu-jin are part of the family whom he refused to help four years ago. Jung-seok and Min-Jung then made an attempt to steal the truck.
