ABOUT THE MOVIE
The 2022 American psychological horror thriller film Goodnight Mommy, which is a remake of the 2014 Austrian film of the same name, is directed by Matt Sobel and written by Kyle Warren.
Along with Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti, Naomi Watts is the movie’s lead. Following their mother’s recent operation, when she wears bandages over her face, the twin brothers in the movie begin to fear their mother has been exchanged with an impostor.
GOODNIGHT MOMMY MOVIE PLOT
When twin brothers arrive home to find their mother’s demeanor altered and her face covered in surgical bandages, they begin to suspect the woman beneath the gauze is not who she says she is.
The plot follows the story of twin brothers Elias (Cameron Crovetti) and Lukas (Nicholas Crovetti). The boys suspect that the woman behind the bandages is not their mother. What put boys in doubt was the behavior of their mothers. She was acting in a varied and fickle way. Boys visit their mother’s country home to find the truth.
The boys noticed a lot of things that increased their concern. Their mother was behaving differently than before. She tore the picture of her that Elias made. She didn’t even remember the bedtime song which she sings for the boys. Also now she had green eyes instead of blue.
The Boys Escaped From Their Home
When the boys ask about the change in her behavior, she reacts angrily. Such behavior changes convinced the boys that their mother has been kidnapped. And the lady with them is an imposter. When the behavior of the mother becomes harsher towards them, they fled to their neighbor’s home. But the police made their return to their home.
Their mother has now taken off her bandages. When they returned home, Elias saw green contact lenses in his mother’s purse. Also, he realized that Lukas was hiding them from him. Later on, Elias discovered that Lukas was missing from home.
Elias’s mother told him that he accidentally shot his brother with a gun. His mother took him to bran where Lukas was killed. Elias was not able to accept this reality. The strange behavior of the mother is now identified as the trauma of her son’s death.
